An Advisory Board is a group of independent experts who provide strategic insight, fresh perspectives. Unlike a governance board, an advisory board has no formal decision-making power,  their role is to help you navigate complex decisions, answer questions about opportunities or growth. For purpose-led businesses, an Advisory Board helps protect your mission while accelerating impact.

An Advisory Board with a chartered focus on the problem or question, can bring skilled and experienced members into the Advisory Board creating output that the Governance Board or leadership team can use to make an ‘informed decision’.

  4. Ongoing Partnership — If you choose ongoing advisory support, we partner with you through quarterly check-ins, board meeting participation and or bespoke advisory sessions.

While setting up a best practice advisory board is one of our offerings, we provide tailored personal advisory support without establishing a board.
You can engage us for specific strategic projects, leadership development, or growth scaling or impact alignment work depending on your needs.

Typically, the end-to-end process from defining the advisory purpose, charter creation, recruiting members and onboarding the Board takes between 8 to 16 weeks, depending on the complexity of your business and the breadth of expertise required.  We will provide you with a timeline for your specific needs at the beginning of our relationship.

This is a little like ‘how long is a piece of string’. The answer is it depends, what does it depend on – the charter or the purpose of the advisory board. If there is a problem you will need people with experience or knowledge in potential solutions associated with that problem or is the focus on a question and a future opportunity then you need experience and skills from someone or someone’s who know that space.
